Working under the umbrella of various art forms, including visual, video, installation, performance, sound, and writing, the collective aims to foster a mutually beneficial exchange through public events, creating unforeseen dialogues and connections that lead towards a deeper understanding of aesthetic and sensory experiences.

The collective’s third event, titled ‘The Sit Down.’ will take place in Bewley’s Theatre room on the 2nd of April, Thursday from 6 pm to 11 pm.

With this short film/moving image screening project the collective is exploring the themes of home, conflict, the emotional landscape of displacement, and the ever shifting sense of “home” and what this means in context of nomadism, globalization, intimacy and place through moving image works and poetry.

The short film/moving image screening event will open with poetry readings by three poets on the stage of the theatre room, followed by up to an hour of short film screenings by artists from Ireland, Turkey, Hong Kong-Ireland and Croatia. After the screening a panel discussion will be facilitated with the attending artists (led by Blue Niall) to further elaborate on what moves people to make work about such an intimate but universal topic and further explore the films and poems of the night. The event will conclude with two live music performances by Pilar Paradela (harp) and follow up band set by Khidyie (Singer/songwriter).

The screening event on April 2nd will be featuring:

Artists:

Harun Nergiz

Elif Belgen

Ivan Lučev

‘Čakaj Me’ Krešimir Zimonić

Gareth Stack

Temmuz Süreyya Gürbüz

Rik Higashikawa

Choy-Ping Ní Chléirigh-Ng

Lana Zubović

Poets:

Molly May O’Leary

Philip Anthony Kenny

Mariam Alaga

Musicians:

Pilar Paradela (Harp Player)

Khidyie (Singer/Songwriter)

Event Host: Blue Niall

Writer: Leah McDonogh

‘Oscillations ii’ was written by Leah McDonogh as part of this screening event.

_

_

Oscillations ii

Oscillating ii., a superfluous document, text in excess, concerned with its

aesthetics, the polymorphic body. a metapractice, a self fulfilling prophecy.

notes on the ______ (body).

h-o-m-e,

<<home>>

the naturecultural organism-, binary constructs, home curated, deconstruction,

simulation and creation through reterritorialization.
